Proceeds of Crime

We can mount a robust defence

Recent times have seen tough new rules introduced to crack down on money laundering and the proceeds of crime. Since the passing of the Act in 2002, proceeds of crime cases have hardly been out of the spotlight. There are many regulations that have been added since the 2002 Act, most notably the Money Laundering Regulations of 2007. Fleming and Reid can offer expert advice in cases relating to the proceeds of crime. Have you been accused of being involved in;

  • Concealing, disguising, converting, transferring or removing criminal property from the United Kingdom.
  • Entering into or becoming concerned in an arrangement which they know or suspect facilitates (by whatever means) the acquisition, retention, use or control of criminal property by or on behalf of another person.
  • acquiring, use or have possession of criminal property.

If any of the above apply, you can be accused of being engaged in money laundering. With our expertise in this area of law, Fleming and Reid can help you.

Fleming & Reid offer expert advice and immediate legal representation throughout Scotland for all proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
