Philip Cohen

Consultant

Philip joined the firm as a Consultant in November 2024 bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience in both criminal and family law matters spanning many years.

Having been admitted as a solicitor in 1989 Philip embarked on a commercial litigation traineeship with AC Bennett and Robertson. As his career developed and in recognition of his growing status Philip was assumed as a partner with one of Glasgow’s leading litigation firms, Ross Harper and Murphy in 1995. During this role Philip practiced in criminal defence, employment law, reparation and family law cases. Of particular note was Philip’s conduct of a child custody case that was successfully appealed to the House of Lords.

In 2001 Philip joined Lambie Law before establishing his own firm in 2012. Over this period Philip was instructed in many high profile and complex cases including murder, misuse of drugs offences, fraud, people trafficking as well as an historical abuse case which involved the largest volume of disclosure of evidence by the prosecution in any case so far in Scotland. 

Philip enjoyed many years tutoring students at The University of Strathclyde in criminal advocacy on the post graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Philip also served as treasurer of the Glasgow Bar Association for 4 years before being elected Vice President.
